🚀 New Feature Release for DESelect Engage: Engagement & Sending Volume Analytics

We’re thrilled to introduce a powerful new addition to DESelect Engage: Sending Volume & Engagement Charts — designed to help marketers gain actionable insights into their email frequency and engagement impact.

📊 Sending Volume Chart

The Sending Volume Chart visualizes the average number of emails your contacts receive per week over a selected time window (e.g., 180 days). This makes it easy to understand how your total audience is being communicated with over time.

DESelect Sending Volume Chart
  • Breakdown by frequency: See what percentage of contacts receive <0.5, 1, 2, 4, 5, or 5+ emails per week.
  • Behavioral Insight: For instance, 40% of contacts receiving exactly 1 email per week indicates consistent, moderate outreach — helpful for identifying opportunities to scale or reduce frequency.
  • Dynamic updates: Data refreshes hourly to reflect your most recent sending activity.

📈 Engagement Chart

The Engagement Chart maps the relationship between email frequency and contact engagement, helping marketers understand the sweet spot between message volume and audience responsiveness.

  • Segmented by engagement tiers:

    • High: Top 25% of engaged contacts
    • Medium: Middle 50%
    • Low: Bottom 25%
    • Dead: No engagement (no opens or clicks)
  • Normalization for clarity: Each bar (per frequency tier) adds up to 100%, showing the distribution of engagement at different send frequencies.
  • Actionable insights: For example, sending 3 emails per week results in a significant portion of “High” engagement, whereas both low and high frequencies may correlate with more “Dead” contacts.

🧠 Why It Matters

This feature gives marketing teams:

  • The ability to analyze contact saturation
  • Data-driven optimization of send frequencies
  • An evidence-based approach to maximize engagement without fatigue

Customers starting with Engage will often wonder what sending volumes to allow in their rules. These insights will help them make an informed decision.

🕒 Real-Time Intelligence

Both charts update hourly, giving you the most current data to adapt campaigns rapidly and maintain a healthy contact strategy.

🚀 New Feature Release for DESelect Segment: Waterfall Segments

How it works

Allows creating segments of certain sizes that are exclusively unique
For example, A company has a database of music lovers who can be fans of multiple artists.

We want to target exactly

  • 100 Beyoncé fans
  • 200 Taylor Swift fans (different contacts from the Beyonce fans)
  • 300 Avicii fans (different contacts from the Beyonce and Swifties)

In standard segmentation, you would build a segment with 100 Beyoncé fans, add them to 200 Taylor Swift fans, and add those to a segment of 300 Avicii fans.
The problem is that there can be overlap between those, so that once you remove those duplicates, you’ll end up with fewer than 200 Taylor Swift fans and fewer than 300 Avicii fans.

By using Waterfall Segmentation, we deduplicate while we get the segments. That way we can make sure each segment has the exact size you’re requesting (vs when you get the segments first and deduplicate afterwards)

🧠 Why It Matters

  • 🎯 Precise audience targeting: Enables creation of mutually exclusive segments with exact sizes, improving control over sample distribution for A/B testing or campaigns.
  • 🎛 Greater segmentation flexibility: Ideal for cases where contacts may belong to multiple interest groups but need to be allocated uniquely to one segment.
  • 🧪 Supports fair and unbiased experimentation: Helps run cleaner tests by eliminating overlap between segments, which is crucial for measuring true performance differences.
  • 💡 Optimized resource allocation: Ensures each segment gets the right exposure without duplication, saving budget and improving personalization.
